Campus Plan Virtual Open House

Event Start Date:July 1, 2020

Event End Date:August 31, 2020

Event Venue:7pm

We’re excited to invite you to participate in a virtual open house to see results from the first phase of the work underway to develop the UC Berkeley campus, including updates to expand recreational space. Please access the open house anytime before August 31, 2020 to see what’s happening and share your thoughts.

In the virtual open house, you will learn about two important documents that guide the integrated planning approach and future development of the UC Berkeley campus: the Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) and the Campus Master Plan. The integrated planning approach considers how one planning topic, like transportation/mobility, relates to another, like climate resilience.

This summer’s virtual open house is a critical opportunity to continue to make your voice heard in support of improving recreation space on campus and caring for the overall wellbeing of our community. You can help shape the future of campus recreational spaces by participating in the virtual open house:

  • After each section, please take a moment to answer a few questions and share your thoughts.
  • As members and friends of Recreation & Wellbeing, your feedback can draw attention to the need for organized recreational space.

We appreciate your support voicing the need for more campus recreational spaces to help minimally meet the national average. Currently, UC Berkeley has the least amount of recreation space available to students in the nation (Berkeley campus has 2.5 square feet of indoor space per student while the national average is 10 to 13 square feet per student).
