Your Path to Wellness through Physical Activity

Regular physical activity can boost your mood, reduce feelings of anxiety and depression, strengthen your muscles and bones, improve your sleep quality, increase your energy levels, and contribute to the prevention of various health concerns and diseases.

What is EIM-On Campus?

Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC) is a global health initiative established in 2007 by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Medical Association (AMA). EIM-OC emphasizes the importance of physical activity assessment and promotion in preventing and treating chronic conditions and diseases. Within the university environment, EIM-OC strives to educate students, faculty, and staff and create a culture that encourages physical activity by:

  • Making movement a daily part of campus life.

  • Assessing physical activity during every student health visit.

  • Equipping students with the tools to cultivate lifelong, healthy habits.

  • Establishing a referral system for exercise prescriptions that connects university health care providers with health fitness specialists.

Our goal is to inspire every member of the campus community to adopt physical activity as an integral, lifelong habit. Thanks to generous funding, RecWell Personal Trainers are available to offer guidance and support for students seeking enjoyable and sustainable ways to become more active. Each student referred to RecWell personal training is eligible for three complimentary personal training sessions.
