First Sail
Always wanted to try sailing? Never knew how, or are you a little anxious about it? Come sail with our amazing instructors. This short class will give you a taste of what it’s like to sail on the San Francisco Bay. It’s a lot of fun, easy, and you’re going to love it. There are no prerequisites for this introductory sailing program.
Price: Student – $30 / Non-Student – $60** – Each participant must sign up individually.

Sailing Level 1-A Basic Course
This is the first half of our signature sailing program. It includes all the basics of sailing, from how boats work to getting your feet very very wet. It’s fun, it’s challenging, it’s unbelievably rewarding.
There are no prerequisites for this Level 1-A Basic Sailing class.
- This course consists of four class meetings. Due to the depth of the content covered in this course, participants are required to attend all class sessions.
- Please do not enroll if you are unable to commit to attending all class sessions.

*All participants will attend 9AM-2PM on the first day. Instructors will divide the class into two overlapping groups with staggered starts from 9AM-1PM and 10AM-2PM respectively for the remaining 3 sessions.
Sailing Level 1-B Basic Course
This is the second half of our signature sailing program. You’ll go from having wet feet to being able to sail independently in the South Sailing Basin as a participant in our other programs or supervised during open boating hours. It’s fun, it’s challenging, it’s unbelievably rewarding.
Sailing Level 1-A (or equivalent) is required for this class.
- This course consists of four class meetings. Due to the depth of content covered in this course, participants are required to attend all class sessions.
- Please do not enroll if you are unable to commit to attending all class sessions

Sailing Level 2 Offerings
Our Sailing Level 2 offerings are only open to those who know how to sail, either through participation in one of our Level 1 courses or by completing a check-out sail at the Marina. Instructor approval is required to participate in Level 2 offerings.
Sailing Level 2: Sunset Social Sailing
Come for a sunset sail! Join other sailors to set out in the early evening and ride the wind back to the dock in the setting sun. Share the water and the sunset social scene with adventurers from our other water-sports. After we return and put our boats and gear away, bring something to share with your sailor friends; we’ll supply the hot cocoa!
This event is only open to those who know how to sail, either through our classes or a check out sail at the Marina.

Sailing Level 2: Skills and Drills Days
Come sharpen your skills in these group practice sessions with coaching from our team of instructors. Whether you’re improving your Level 1-A skills in preparation for joining a Level 1-B class or have already completed 1-B and are seeking opportunities to practice, improve and advance, these sessions are designed to support your growth as a sailor. Join other sailors for this fun opportunity to build confidence and level-up your abilities.
This event is only open to those with sailing experience. Participants must have completed either Level 1-A Basic Sailing, Level 1-B Basic Sailing or a private check out at the Marina.
Price: Student – $40 / Non-Student – $75** – Each participant must sign up individually.

- If a class is full, please select the waitlist option in our online store. If a spot becomes available, we will offer the opening to the person closest to the top of the waitlist who expresses interest in the course.
