This experiential camp gives kids the opportunity to observe, examine, and analyze a variety of Bay Area ecosystems – both on the water and on terra firma.
About This Camp
Eco Adventures camp allows campers the opportunity to explore various environments / habitats around the greater Berkeley area. We will use observation and research along with mapping and documentation to deepen our appreciation and understanding of these environments we seek to understand and enjoy. Campers will practice observing through their senses and record their findings while they employ the elements of the scientific method to explore the various biomes of the Bay Area. Their appreciation and understanding of the natural environment will be deepened through exploration, professional instruction, journaling, illustration, and hands-on experimentation. One day a week will be spent aboard the Derek M. Baylis with the educational staff at Wylie Charters (http://www.wyliecharters.com/education-programs/) sampling and observing the incredible San Francisco Bay.
Ages & Eligibility
Campers must be ages 12-14 (by December 1, 2023) in order to register for this camp.
